Parelli Principle #7 – Horses teach humans and humans teach horses.   

One of the things we love about the Parelli Program is the set of principles that guides our decisions and keeps our horsemanship on track, and principle #7 is our foundational belief about training horses.  The more your horse knows, the more you can learn because ultimately, we are all students of the horse.
 
As a Parelli Horse Development Specialist, Juli starts and develop horses (vs. the more traditional terminology of breaking and training).  Foundation training involves everything from groundwork to accepting the saddle, bit, rider and guider, preparation for farrier and vet, trailer loading, riding out, arena riding, obstacles, and the beginnings of precision riding.  
 
The areas of development can be separated into the following categories:

• Colt Starting (and re-starting)
• Foundation Training
• Problem Solving​
  

We evaluate each horse individually and then set up a custom training plan based on that horse’s needs, education, and the owner’s goals.
